Regulatory Information

We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, number 591666.

We are registered as a limited liability partnership in England and Wales with number OC379648 and address 66 Chorley Street, Bolton, BL1 4AL.

We use the word 'partner' to refer to a member of the LLP. The member may be a solicitor, corporate body, lawyer or non-lawyer manager.

A list of the members of the LLP is displayed at our offices.

We adhere to the Solicitors Code of Conduct: www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/handbook/code/content.page

Firms regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority are required to collect, report and publish workforce diversity data annually. We undertake the exercise towards the end of each year. A copy of a summary of the latest results is available, free of charge, by contacting our office.

We strive to give our clients the best possible service. If at any point a client becomes unhappy or concerned about our service then they should inform us immediately, so that we can do our best to resolve any problem. We operate a Complaints Policy that you can access with an email request to mail@alplaw.co.uk. The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help you if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic. You can raise your concerns with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

The Legal Ombudsman can help if we are unable to resolve a complaint ourselves. They will look at a complaint independently. Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that a client has tried to resolve the complaint with us first. If they have, then a complaint must be taken to the Legal Ombudsman:

  • Within six months of receiving a final response to the complaint and
  • No more than six years from the date of act/omission; or
  • No more than three years from when it should reasonably have been known there was cause for complaint.
